Planet of Lana – the beautiful 2D puzzle platformer has a total of 15 Achievements, and 10 Secret Shrines (to be found and collected). These are spread across 13 mesmerizing yet engaging Chapters in the game.
All the Shrines in the game are well hidden in less than obvious spots (as they rightfully should be). Having said that, it is not too hard to discover these shrines by yourselves if you play the game in a relaxed and exploratory manner, checking all diversions and detours on your way.

Chapter 1: Home
This is where you (Lana) begin your journey and get acquainted with the game’s mechanics. It’s pretty straightforward platformer mechanics- you’re going to be walking around, moving left and right. This Chapter is mainly for players to get comfortable with the controls, so take your time and get used to the game’s setup.
Achievement 1: Sneaky Sisters
Achievement 2: The Journey Begins
Chapter 2: Alone
Chapter 2 is pretty much where the game begins to pick up pace. You’ll be learning a lot of new things, such as crouching in the grass to hide from enemies, finding hidden collectibles (aka shrines) and putting all those mechanics we learnt in Chapter 1 to a good use while trying to navigate the serene landscapes and levels of the game.
Secret Shrine 1
Achievement 3: A New Friend
Chapter 3: New Friend
Chapter 3 is the point from which you start attacking the game as a team (now with Mui). You’ll learn new tricks on how to manipulate the game environment and solve puzzles using Mui as you progress through this level. Additionally, you’ll also have to chance to collect 2 secret shrines.
Achievement 4: It Purrs!
Secret Shrine 2
Shrine 2 is located near the puzzle in Chapter 3 where you encounter the unmovable cage tied to a rope. When you see the cage, climb the upper level and head backwards in the direction you can from until you see this shrine at the end.
Secret Shrine 3
Shrine 3 is not hard to find. You’ll be able to collect it at the puzzle you encounter in Chapter 3 right after you cross a crater-like area with a crashed ship in the backdrop. If you’ve already reached the part where you and Mui must kill the robot with the hanging log of woods then you’ve just passed Shrine 3. This robot is kind of the boss of Chapter 3 and as soon as you kill it, the next chapter starts. So, head back to get your hands on shrine #3.
Chapter 4: Secrets in the Dark
This one is the darkest chapters of them all, so be careful spotting enemies and sudden drops. However, what helps with low visibility is certain kinds of plants with illuminating vines that work exactly like the mechanics of the game thus far – so you can light them up by standing on them (or having Mui stand on them).
Secret Shrine 4
Achievement 5: A Key From the Past
Chapter 5: The Highlands
This is one is a much shorter Chapter compared to all the other ones we’ve encountered up until now. There is just one Shrine to collect at this level. This Shrine too (like the previous one) is well hidden in a cave like chamber off your regular game path. The only hint that gives is a tiny ledge that’s barely visible next to a hanging rope. Swing and jump to grab hold of the ledge.
Secret Shrine 5
Chapter 6: The Swamps
Like the name suggests, in this level, Lana and Mui are literally in the swamps. This chapter has 2 hidden shrines and 1 achievement. As you start making your way into this chapter, a cutscene will show you how Mui is not too comfortable with the water, and therefore you’re going to have to help Mui float to get across.
Secret Shrine 6
Secret Shrine 7
Achievement 6: A Trace From the Past
Chapter 7: The Past
Chapter 7 is crucial for the plot as a lot of the story unfolds at this level. There aren’t any shrines to collect here, just lots of interesting puzzles to solve, and one achievement along the way.
Achievement 7: In Control
Chapter 8: The Ocean
Chapter 8 is shortest Chapter in the Planet of Lana, and also the only level with no secret shrines or no achievements to unlock. It feels more like a training level to get comfortable with the extra mechanic of controlling bots and drones – as can be see in the below image.
Chapter 9: Turning Tide
Nothing too unusual in this Chapter, apart from a slight change of scenery. There are 2 shrines and 1 achievement in this level. The first one is way off route. The second one isn’t very differently located to most other shrines in the game.
Secret Shrine 8
Secret Shrine 9
Achievement 8: We’ve Made it This Far
Chapter 10: The Desert
More puzzle and more robots in Chapter 10, only this time the setup is a dry and arid desert. This chapter has one unlockable achievement and the last collectible secret shrine of the game.
Secret Shrine 10
Achievement 9: A Trace of the Past
Chapter 11: The Oasis
Chapter 11 takes place in a setting called the ‘safe zone’. Here Lana meets an elderly gentleman named Rakuen. He leads Lana to her next challenge – another musical puzzle, which when solved rewards you with a rideable robot which looks like a spider but runs like a horse.
With all the shrines already captured, we just have a bunch pf achievements left to unlock in the game from this point onwards, one of which is in this chapter.
Achievement 10: Close Call
Chapter 12: End of the Road
Chapter 12 – the penultimate chapter of the game is also perhaps the hardest one. Couple of more puzzles, robots, and 2 more unlockable achievements await us. You’ll find yourself sneaking into one of the alien ships that takes you up to the mother ship where you’ll attempt to free Mui and eventually battle the final boss of the game – a big eye / orb like thing. Once you beat this last puzzle, you will have disabled all other bots before they come back to life as non-evil entities.
Achievement 11: Point of No Return
Achievement 12: Back Together!
Chapter 13: Tailo Village
The last chapter takes Lana back to her home – Tailo Village, this time she has Mui along as well. The chapter plays pretty much like the first one, keep heading left to find Lana’s sister. You may notice how the bots are no longer to be feared. They are all friendly and integrated into lives of the villagers.
Achievement 13: Home At Last
Achievement 14: Flawless (Optional)
Basically, you get this achievement when none of your characters die, either Lana or Mui. Don’t stress, you don’t need to do the whole game in one shot without dying. Each chapter tracks deaths separately. So, if you die in Chapter 5, you just have to replay from Chapter 5 onwards. |
The achievement might seem tough but it’s not that hard to get if you follow some pointers.
- If you die, instantly replay that chapter. Go back to the main menu, pick ‘Play’, select your current save slot, go to ‘Chapters unlocked’ and pick the chapter you need to replay. If you survive that chapter on the retry, it will erase any previous deaths and count as a clean chapter.
- You can avoid a death if you’re quick enough. Press start and reload the previous checkpoint just before your character dies, like if you miss a jump. This way, you avoid replaying a whole chapter and save time.
- Leave the flawless achievement for the end. Play the whole game, jot down the chapters where you died, then after you complete the game, use chapter select to replay and clear those chapters.
Achievement 15: 100% Complete
The last achievement unlocks when you manage to beat the game without dying, find all shrines and unlock all other achievements.
