Inspired by Battlefield 2042 and much requested by players, a new accessibility change in the upcoming update in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 Reloaded will introduce Inverted Flash Grenade setting.
The blinding white flashbang has always been a point of complaint from COD gamers for being overly effective. But now this new setting will come as a sure sign of visual relief to your retinas. When activated, the flashbang now shows a momentary blackscreen (instead of the usual white). Here’s a sneak preview of this in action.

The brightness of flashbangs has always been a topic of controversy in Modern Warfare. With MW2, Heartbeats, Stuns and Stims are no longer as OP (read useful) as they were with older games. Moreover, Tactical Mask too is not a good counter to tacticals like it used to be in previous COD games. Therefore you find most gamers equipping flash grenades as tactical in their loadouts.
This recent abundance of flash grenades is probably what spiked Modern Warfare 2 players to demand for a dark mode option for Flashbangs.
How to enable Inverted Flash Grenade?
In both games: Warzone 2 or MW 2, go to the main menu. From there
- Select options on the top right.
- Click on Settings
- Scroll to look for “Interface”, click on it.
- Here you will see the option to toggle “Inverted Flash“.
