Once you’ve made your way through the main plot of Diablo 4, you’re set free in an open world to go on new adventures. Getting around this huge world, known as Sanctuary, can be quick thanks to waypoints that let you teleport to specific locations. But a brand new feature called ‘mounts’ makes travel even faster.Diablo 4 has over 30 mounts. To unlock the first one, finish the game’s third act, go to Kyovashad and complete Donan’s quest. This grants mount access and a starting mount. Further mounts can be bought from stables. Once unlocked, all characters can use a mount, which is also customizable.
In all there seem to be well over 30 mounts in Diablo 4 from everything we know thus far. At the moment, we know have the names of three, but from the teasers we have images of nearly all of them.

Rest of the Mounts
Unlocking your first Mount
Mounts are horses you can ride. You find different types scattered around the world, often by solving puzzles or exploring hidden places, or even as loot from certain monsters you defeat. To unlock your first mount, you must complete the primary campaign’s third Act on one character. After finishing this act, you’ll be transported to Kyovashad and instructed to meet Donan in the Cathedral of Light. Donan will give you a quest named Mount: Donan’s Favor, which will grant you Mount Access. You will most likely be at level 30 by this point, so that’s the level where you unlock the mount. At the start of the fourth Act, after your dialogue with Donan, go back to the stable master in Kyovashad, and he’ll give you a default starting mount – Old Nell Steed. You’ll also have the option to buy a Grey Steed or a Mottled Steed for 20k gold each.As D4 is still in Early Access, the names of some Steeds are unknown
Buying & Using Mounts
Once you unlock your first mount by completing a special task or ‘quest’ in the story, you can buy more mounts from vendors known as stables. When you unlock a mount, it’s not just for the character you’re currently playing – all the characters you’ve created can use it.
You can summon your mount anytime by pressing the ‘Z’ key on your keyboard or pressing the right button on your controller’s d-pad. Once summoned, there is an 8 second cooldown period before you can summon your steed again.
After having mounted your steed you should see 3 new options on your screen. One is for when you need a quick boost of speed to evade enemies or you could also just hit the spacebar to get the same outcome.
The other two options for dismounting from your steed – one of these is an attack dismount where your character will launch an attack pretty much while dismounting. This kind of dismount is followed by a 13 second cooldown period. The last option is a normal dismount.
Customizing your Mounts
Mounts aren’t just about getting from place to place. You can also customize them in ways that make them look cool and perform better. You can outfit them with special equipment like armor or different kinds of horseshoes, which can make your mount faster or tougher. Some of these upgrades might even give you an edge in player versus player battles. There’s also a fun system for showing off your achievements. You can earn trophies by accomplishing certain feats in the game and then display them on your mount for all to see. Each mount also comes with its own set of skills that you can use while riding it. Some of these skills are common to all mounts, while others change depending on the character class you’re playing.
